📰 THE GRAPEVINE ISSUE #012
A weekend with range
Good morning, neighbour.
Tuesday was for shorter ballots, stronger chairs and the kind of government restructuring that makes you stare at your municipal ballot like it changed outfits.
Today is much simpler.
This weekend, Niagara has a village festival in Ridgeway, science by the Falls, theatre indoors, mystery outdoors, cardboard boats in Port Colborne, polo in Wainfleet and wiener dogs at the track.
So yes, we have range.
In today’s Grapevine:
Why Ridgeway gets the first spot this weekend
Where to find music, markets, theatre, sports and small-town summer energy
Which Sunday event involves very short legs and very high commitment
Let’s get into it.

🎪 WEEKEND LEAD
Ridgefest takes over downtown Ridgeway in Fort Erie
Ridgeway gets the big weekend treatment this time.
Ridgefest runs Friday through Sunday in the village, with street dances, live music, vendors, food trucks, a farmers’ market, a classic car show, kid-zone activities and enough Sunday family programming to make “we’ll just stop by” a dangerous sentence.
Friday brings Cherry Bomb, Almost Kool and the evening kickoff. Saturday is the full-day version, with the market, Rods & Relics, Birds of Prey, bounce houses and more music at night. Sunday shifts into Family Day, with a trackless train, magic show, pony rides, petting zoo, Fluffy the Clown and face painting.
It is the strongest all-around weekend anchor this issue: local, walkable, family-friendly and more useful than sending everyone to one more parking lot with a folding table.
📍 Downtown Ridgeway / Village Square, Fort Erie
🕙 Friday, 6-11 PM; Saturday, 8 AM-11 PM; Sunday, 8 AM-4 PM
💵 Free to attend; donations encouraged at the park entrance.

🧺 ONE GUIDE NOTE
A new Friday market stop
A newly opened Esthers Friday Market is now in the Niagara Farmers’ Markets Guide for Friday planning.

That is a full weekend.
My early route: Ridgefest if you want the classic small-town summer plan, Tesla Fest if you want free and Niagara-specific, and the wiener dog races if your Sunday needs an event that can only be improved by short legs and crowd noise.
See you Tuesday.
